Goat organisers are ready to deliver goodness to you!

We don't take our responsibilities lightly in looking after a herd of 500. This week we've nailed down our post event offerings to you – our valued inaugural Goat Kaimai competitors.

  • A free bottle of Mountain Goat beer – served ice cold by own lovely Goat crew.
  • A free woodfired pizza (your choice of Peperoni, Chicken, Italian, Bacon, Vegetarian, Hawaiian, - served up by Eleandro and the team from PizzaRoma in Papamoa.
  • Receive your beer and pizza voucher as you cross the finish line!
  • Mountain Goat beer can be purchased for $5.00 from early afternoon
  • Lone Goat Wine can be purchased for $5.00 per glass from early afternoon
  • From midday, softdrinks can be purchased from $2.00, PizzaRoma woodfired pizzas can be purchased for $11.00 & Brazilian savouries for $2.50.  Coffee and other hot drinks will also be available onsite from early afternoon.

Late Entries

We received over 500 entries (our limit) but still have spaces available. Online entries close tonight at 5.00pm but late registrations may be taken Friday night at the Aongatete Lodge until 10.00pm, then again at Aongatete Lodge 6.30am – 8.00am on Saturday and finally at 9.15am from Goodwin Road until we are full. Drop your friends / family / running buddies a note now!

The Waves

All finalised and ready to be viewed here. We've accommodated every wave change request so far but this window is now closed folks and unless you've entered this week we think you've had ample time to fire through requests. Remember its 5 waves, 5 minutes apart with wave #1 starting at 10.30am.

Event Transport – options and timelines

Remember we've given you three options for getting to the start line.

  • A bus departing from Aongatete Lodge – departs 8.00am
  • A bus departing from Durham Street, Tauranga – departs 8.30am
  • Or your own transportation to Goodwin Road – arrive 9.15am please


Event Registration - timelines
  • Friday 8.00pm – 10.00pm at Aongatete Lodge for those staying Friday night at Aongatete Lodge
  • Saturday 6.30am – 7.45am at Aongatete Lodge for those boarding a bus at Aongatete Lodge
  • Saturday at 8.30am for those boarding a bus in Tauranga (your registration will be on board)
  • Saturday 9.15am for those being dropped to Goodwin Road
Strapping Service at the start

Diego and his team from the Foundation Sports and Rehabilitation Clinic will have a team of sports physios performing pre event strapping from 9.00am ($2 per athlete to cover tape cost), and pre event sports massage and warm up: ($1 per minute). Cash only and first in first sorted! Diego's team will also be at the finish line performing post event sports massage, stretching and cool down: ($1 per minute).

GEAR TO FINISH - You'll have the opportunity to send gear on our gear bus to the finish line.  Look out for the gear van at the start line.  It will be onsite approx 9.15am

COFFEE AT START LINE - Yip, Espresso On The Go Matamata will be serving from approx 9.00am so bring along some coins for that last pre event kick. 

Event Compulsory Gear

An important reminder to get your gear quickly if you are not yet sorted. Remember you'll need to bring all your compulsory gear to pre-event registration. You're just a few days out now – don't let compulsory gear stop you getting to the start line. Go to to view compulsory gear requirements.

Check – Clean – Dry – Protecting the Kaimai Mamaku Forest Park

When you have a spare five minutes this week please ensure the shoes you intend to wear on the course are clean and dry!

Prizegiving – 5.00pm

The prizegiving will be held on the green in the lovely bush amphitheatre at Aongatete Lodge at 5.00pm. To be eligible for spot prizes you need to be there to claim your prize. There will be $10,000 in retail value of performance and spot prizes to give away.

Post prizegiving

Remember the end of the prize giving isn't the end of the day. We'd love to have newly anointed goats hanging with us and the goats staying on site at Aongatete for some r and r throughout the evening. We have DJ Jono Reeves playing your favourite tracks through until 10.00pm. Food and drink (see above) will be available during the evening
