The 8th Annual Goat Alpine Adventure Run
Dear Goat,
Farewell to the herd for another year – Congratulations to all new Goats
Thanking You
Well I trust everyone had a memorable day out there on Saturday. Commiserations to those that sustained injuries on the course that made it impossible to continue. This can happen and we are glad that these people exited safely from the course including the safe helicopter rescue of an under 23 competitor with approximately 7km to go.

Upcoming Events in the New Year
Our next event is the annual Iho Fix Tussock Traverse run and walk supporting Project Tongariro (yep the people who were marshalling in the first half of The Goat) on 28 January 2012. This is a 27km alpine adventure run from Tukino to Whakapapa on another section of the majestic Round the Mountain track finishing on the lawn outside the historic Chateau Tongariro. This year we have added two new events with 6.5km and 13km options which start at Whakapapa Village.

Finally, Oxfam Trailwalker is another great challenging event run by some-one very close to the Goat family
Yes you'd be surprised what a goat can do!

Enter Oxfam Trailwalker for your next challenge! 100kms in 36 hours (there's 7 checkpoints along the way) to challenge yourself and bring real change to real people living poverty in the Pacific, South East Asia and around the world. Real change like a Goat…
At Oxfam, we have a big soft spot for goats…because Goats just keep on giving. For just $47 a locally-bought goat will give a family 7 litres of fresh milk per week to drink and sell, as well as organic fertiliser for their crops. And the first-born female kid will be given to another family so the magic can start again!
Because we think goats are so special – we’re offering you $100 off the entry fee for Oxfam Trailwalker when you reserve your team place before 31 December 2011.
Check out www.oxfamtrailwalker.org.nz for more details.
