This camp has been put together for:
Enthusiastic first time goat participants of all abilities;
Passionate returning goats of all abilities who perhaps want to improve their performance or just go the distance;
Goat participants of all abilities who simply want to meet like minded goats for a fun weekend of knowledge sharing.

Why you shouldn’t miss this camp?
We will be running the course on the Saturday in a group format with organised transport and pack leaders/guides to suit differing levels of ability. This will be an ideal way to get acquainted with the unique terrain of the goat;
Absorb tons of knowledge on a range of valuable topics to do with trail running and the Goat event in our practical sessions taken by a variety of knowledgeable experts on trail running and the Goat;
A great weekend away with people who share the same passion and enthusiasm for the trails. And of course it’s not all work and no fun. The Park Travellers’ Lodge venue is the perfect venue to relax and socialize;
All inaugural Goat camp participants will get a souvenir t-shirt and a goody bag with a taste of Goat sponsors products.
Training Camp Overview
The training weekend will be delivered by Goat founder, Jason Cameron and Event Manager Luke Garea along with leading Endurance coach Chris Pilone, coach of Olympic gold medalist Hamish Carter, Wendy Chrisp, successful coach from Endurance Coach along with active contribution and involvement from a range of participants and speakers including past Goat winners, record holders, high achievers and trail running experts including Sjors Corporaal and Colin Earwaker. This training weekend is designed as a weekend for a wide range of abilities and experience. It is not just for elite entrants and our first ever goat training camp will importantly cater to the fitness and ability levels of all participants.

Date: Friday 23rd to Sunday 25th September
Camp Cost: Single room $495.00, Twin share room $405.00, Quad bed single in share room $385.00, Dorm bed single in share room $375.00
The cost per person above is inclusive of GST and include two night’s accommodation, breakfast each morning, transport and camp fees. Evening meals are not included; however, the Spiral Kitchen at The Park Travellers’ Lodge offers affordable, wholesome NZ cuisine or there is the option to self cater for dinner.

| From 8.45am to 9.45am | Info/practical session for faster group |

| 10.00am | Later group depart the Park for start of Goat track using Park Travellers’ Lodge transport |
| 10.30am | Later group commence run in designated packs from top of Bruce Road |
| 11.00am | Transport leaves park for half distance run for beginner goats from Horopito to Turoa |
| 11.30am | Half distance run for first time goats from Horopito |
| 2.30pm | Early group and later groups converge at Turoa Ski Area the finish line for the Goat |
| From 3.00pm | Head down to the Powderhorn in Ohakune to rehydrate and replenish along with a relaxing soak in their hot pool |
| From 5.00pm | Head back to The Park Travellers’ Lodge |
| From 6.30pm | Dinner at the Park |
| From 7.30pm to 9.00pm | Session covering trail running performance including running form/economy, equipment, nutrition, health/safety and FAQ’s about the Goat |

Sunday 25th September
